Well another week without much snow, but we still had a great afternoon Sunday snowshoeing and roasting hot dogs over a fire with
 good friends and family. It is always fun with this group of people.  Next is a snowmoblie guide on the
21st (hope we have enough snow) and the 25th is the winter camp out if anyone is interested.

Well old man winter has not been good to those who like the winter this year.
The temps have been a little too warm for snowmobiling, but we are still finding ways to enjoy the outdoors.
We have done some sliding the packey snow has been great for that.  Snowshoeing has been
real good if you get out into the woods off the beaten path.  Vintage snowmobiles like the hard
packed snow out in the fields and they really scoot along. We are planning a snowshoe cook out on
2/12/12 and a winter camp out on 2/25/12 so if anyone is interested let me know.

Well we have snow !!!  Went on 2 great tours this weekend . We have lots of snow  and the scenery is beautiful. I have posted a cpl of pics from the weekend, hope you enjoy them or better yet get out and get some of your own. There is nothing like northern Mi in the winter.

Had a great long weekend last weekend. It started Wednesday with a hunt in the moring with Bob Halpin. We put up 2 grouse and 4 woodcock bringing home one of each. Then in the afternoon I went dirt bike riding with Ben Pruden. We rode 55 miles one way to gas and 55 miles back nonstop. It was a lot of fun but was I ever sore. Thursday back out bird hunting with Mitch Roberts. We put up 4 grouse and 7 woodcock only bringing home one woodcock. The dogs are doing great, but we are not shooting so well. This brings our count up to 118 birds; 30 grouse and 88 woodcock. Its been a great year so far. Friday I headed out to Lansing Motorcycle Club to set up camp and do some riding. I rode about 50 miles of dual sport riding and headed back to camp. Saturday was Trailfest as usual and on cue it rained, but only in the morning. The weather cleared up for a nice afternoon ride back to camp. I had 20 people in my group with Nichole on back with me. We went for about a 30 mile ride . A great dinner and better stories of the day afterwards, finishing the night around the campfire. It is a great time of year to be in Northern MI so get out and enjoy it !

Had a great weekend. It started Friday moring with a bird hunt, puting up 3 grouse and 3 woodcock which puts the bird count at 101 total; 24 grouse and 77 woodcock. Then a Friday night dinner with Don and Deb Marsh and guests Jeff Fredette and Lyle Cheever that ended with a camp fire at Lyle's up north home. Saturday we were up at 7 for breakfast and off to the woods for a dirt bike ride with Jeff and Lyle. We got home at noon and we were on the road bikes to meet up with Don Marsh and Jeff and Louie Hunt for an afternoon color tour. We finished the day with cocktails and pizza at the Kal Ho in Kalkaska. Sunday morning up and out to breakfast with Jeff and Lyle before heading out to go phesant hunting in Mesick with Todd Derenzy and his family. We put up 11 birds taking 5 home with us. What a way to spend the weekend! (pics and video to come)
